

Bruce "Crash" Dewey Gibson, 62, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away due to heart failure, Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital.
A viewing will be held from 5pm to 6pm for family members, and 6pm to 9pm for the public Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, Arizona 85206. The celebration of life service will also take place at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park at 9am on Monday, July 2, 2012. Burial will follow at the Veterans National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024. Note paper and pens will be available at the viewing and service to share a memory or story of Bruce's life with the family. All stories are welcome.
Bruce was born June 9, 1950 in Laona, Wisconsin to Earl and Matilda (Houle) Gibson. He was raised in Milwaukee, WI attended Saint Rose of Lima grade school and graduated from Juneau High School in 1968. In 1969 he enlisted in the Army as an equipment maintenance engineer. His tour of duty took him to Ulm Germany for two years; Bruce did one tour in Vietnam and was very proud of his service in the United States Army, he was honorably discharged in 1972. In 1973 Bruce left Wisconsin and came to Arizona, got a job, and earned associates degrees in both air conditioning and drafting at Maricopa Community College. He worked in construction, as a machinist, plumber, and finally for the Veterans' Administration where he received a medical retirement. In 1982 he was married to Marti Ann (Cruise) Gibson, had his first son Thomas Earl Gibson in 1984, and his second son Andrew Mark Gibson in 1991. By this time Bruce had become 100% medically disabled and spent his time doing the things he really enjoyed like taking care of his family, and seeing the world not letting his heart condition keep him down.
Bruce is survived by his mother Matilda Rose Gibson, his bothers Mark Steven Gibson and Scott Timothy Gibson; Ex-Wife Marti Ann Gibson; Two sons Thomas Earl Gibson and Andrew Mark Gibson; and one grandchild Amaya Luna Gibson. He was preceded in death by his father Earl Bud Gibson, and bother Garland Earl Gibson.
