Buddy Allen “Bud” Pope, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona. He was a beloved father to Michael Pope, Patricia Schreiber and Michelle Gascon; Grandfather to Sean Schreiber, Kelli Pope and Tara Gascon; and Great Grandfather to Ayden Schreiber. Bud was born March 10, 1926 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Samuel and Aubrey Pope. The oldest of six children, he is survived by his brothers Jack Pope of North Carolina and Max Pope of Tennessee; and his sisters Margaret Hill of North Carolina, Polly Slepin of Virginia and Sheila Carnabucci of California. Bud was a 27 year veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees, having served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He had a wonderful gift for working in wood, restoring and repairing anything…and loved every minute spent in his workshop! A memorial service will be held Monday, October 3, 2011, 11:00 AM in the Cemetery Chapel of Mariposa Gardens 6747 E. Broadway Rd. Mesa, Arizona.
