Carolyn Sue (Suzy) Butts McGarrah passed away peacefully and into the arms of her Heavenly Father on December 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul McGarrah. She is survived by her son Dr. Michael McGarrah, daughter, Marla Johnson and her husband Nathan; four grandchildren, Marissa Coleman, Paul McGarrah II, Nicholas Johnson, and Briana Khalaf; three great-grandchildren, Brandon IV, Roman, and Elias. She was preceded in death by her two brothers and her sister.
Suzy was born in Eldorado, Kansas, and grew up in Leon, Kansas until she began working at Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas, where she met Paul. She and Paul were introduced as future spouses by a blind man who somehow knew their destiny. Their marriage lasted 57 years and left a lasting legacy of love for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Suzy was known for her generosity, kindness, and love for her family. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. While the family grieves her loss, they ask that you celebrate the joy she brought to others in life, rather than the sadness of her passing.
The family will have a private graveside service in Texas, where she will be laid to rest next to Paul. The family asks that if desired, a donation be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
