Our dear mother Carolyn Rose (Letchworth) Woolstenhulme sadly passed away on February 20th, 2023, at the age of 72 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Though the final few weeks were unpredictably difficult, Carolyn lived an incredibly memorable life.
Carolyn was born August 17th, 1950, in San Francisco, California to Troy and Betty Letchworth. Mom spent most of her upbringing as an air force brat in Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee.
Mom converted from Southern Baptist to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1968, she was 18 years old. Mom met her future husband at the LDS church in Memphis. They wed and lived in Memphis during the 70’s. In 1979 they moved from Memphis to Salt Lake City, Utah where they raised their 4 children.
Carolyn loved all children, she made it a career, she graduated with an Associate degree in early childhood development. She worked as a director for most of her career in early childhood development where she was praised for her compassion, her leadership, and her ability to build rapport with her staff, children, and parents. Mom’s schools were always at max capacity because of her caring and professional demeanor. In 1999 Mom moved from SLC to Phoenix Arizona to work and be closer to her grandchildren. In 2012 Mom retired at the age of 62 and has spent all her retirement years with her most treasured people, her grandchildren.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always there when we needed her. She is survived by her children Scott (Michelle) Woolstenhulme, Natalie (Troy) Brown, Justin (Angela) Woolstenhulme, Derik (Abbie) Woolstenhulme. Her grandchildren; Austin, Skyler, Talon, Ryker, Dylan, Maddox, Hunter, Jagger, Axel, Randy, and Cassie. Her great grandchildren Hailey Marie, Hannah, William, Jaeden, Charlie, and Cora.
If you know our mom, you know she loved unconditionally, almost to a fault. Everyone that she came in contact with loved her and she loved and adored them. Her greatest blessing in this life was to share kindness, give great guidance and love those that came into her life.
