Born on April 23, 1986, in Yuma, Arizona, to Liesl and James, Chanel grew up with a determined spirit and a fearless sense of purpose. Answering the call to serve, she dedicated eight years of honorable service to the United States Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Sergeant and deploying twice to Afghanistan. Her military career reflected her trademark willpower, courage, and natural ability to lead and uplift those around her. Chanel was a powerhouse of motivation—possessing a steady confidence that inspired everyone in her orbit to stand a little taller and push a little further.
Beyond her service, Chanel had an adventurous heart and a great sense of humor. She found joy in the simple and the spirited alike: cheering on her beloved Denver Broncos, cracking unapologetic dad jokes, solving word puzzles, and tracking down hidden treasures while geocaching. She loved traveling and taking long walks through beautiful scenery, but some of her happiest moments were spent playing and laughing with her nephews.
Chanel is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas; her mother, Liesl; her father, James; her sisters, Rachel and Courtney; her brother, Michael; her adored nephews; and a large, loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, fellow Marines, and dear friends who will miss her deeply. Chanel’s spirit was unbreakable, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Semper Fi, Marine.
A celebration of Chanel’s life will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Lakeshore Mortuary in Mesa, Arizona.
