

Charles Joseph "Tom" Brady was born August 26, 1940 in South Gate, California to Thomas Anthony Brady and Mary Louise "Maureen" Custer. He was the first grandchild of J.W. Custer and Margaret Walsh Custer.
He grew-up and attended school in California and New Jersey. He joined the U.S. Navy on his seventeenth birthday and began a long and distinguished career, mostly in the Submarine Service. He saw the world, upon his retirement Tom never did gain land legs and returned to the sea as a member of the Merchant Marine.
Known as a loyal friend, he entertained those he met with his stories of his travels and exploits.
Tom is survived by his aunts, siblings, cousins and three children as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012, Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Rosary celebrated by his family begining at 7:00 pm. Services will begin at 11:00 am, Friday, October 19, 2012 at Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel, 6625 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona, 85206. Military honors services will begin promptly at 1:30 pm, National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave creek Road, Phoenix, AZ. Donations beining accepted in lieu of flowers.
