

Regenia "Cherryle" Hitchings (Weir), a devoted wife and mother, passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on July 28, 1944, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Cherryle was known for her generous, compassionate, gentle, loyal, and resilient nature.
Cherryle was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, and later moved to Wichita, KS, where she graduated from Wichita High School East. She pursued higher education at Emporia State in Emporia, Kansas.
She dedicated her professional career to the aircraft industry. She worked with Beech Aircraft and Cessna Aircraft before joining Boeing Military Airplane Company, from which she eventually retired.
Cherryle is survived by her daughter, Carrie Harpenau, and son-in-law, Mark. Her legacy continues through her two grandsons, Cole and Jacob Harpenau.
She preceded in death by her husband Robert Owen Hitchings and her parents Robert Brooks Weir and Elva Lorene Weir (Gant).
In her personal life, Cherryle lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and friends, her interests included; quilting, cross stitch, sewing, Swedish weaving, playing cards, Dominos and golf. She was a resident of Wichita, Kansas. She spent her final months in Mesa, Arizona.
