Clinton Charles Ebert

Clinton C. Ebert, age 93, passed away at home on December 26, 2019 in Apache Junction, AZ. He was born on October 28, 1926 in Cumru Township, Berks County, PA to Clint Charlton Ebert & Miriam Freeman Ebert. He was a 1944 graduate of Shillington High School and participated in the Drum and Bugle Corp in Shillington. In the spirit of the “Greatest Generation”, he enlisted into the Armed Forces on September 14, 1944 serving in the US Navy on board the USS Potter County LST 1086 where he served as a cook & baker, Seaman First Class in the Pacific Theater. He received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal before his honorable discharge on August 3, 1946. He returned to his hometown of Reading, PA and learned machinist tool & die trade post WWII working for several companies in that area.

He married Theresa M. Cote (daughter of Patrick Cote & Lucie Cyr Cote of Madawaska, Maine) on August 14, 1954 at St. John Baptist de la Salle in Shillington, PA. After several years living in Reading, PA, he moved his family to East Hartford, CT where he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and later by United Technologies as a tool & die machinist. He retired in 1986 and hit the road with Theresa plus one cat in their RV and drove across the US and most of Canada too. They had many adventures from east coast to west coast but eventually settled in Apache Junction, AZ.

He is survived by a son, Michael C. Ebert of Bowdoinham, ME, a daughter Patricia A. Tyrone of Apache Junction, AZ, a brother in law, Rey Cyr of Austin, TX and several nieces & nephews. His beloved wife of 62 years, Theresa M. Ebert (nee Cote) predeceased him in 2016. He was also predeceased by his three sisters, Anne Ebert Seiverling of Nashville, TN, Betty Ebert Buerher of Mohnton and Vivian Ebert Cake of Reading.

Clinton had 93 orbits around the sun and had a well-lived & full life, proudly served his country in WWII, married his soulmate & had a successful career and retirement. That’s not only a full life but a rich life.
