He was born on May 26, 1935, the 2nd of 6 children to Martin and Francis (Hudec) Maslonka in Walthill, Nebraska. He grew up in Walthill, and graduated from high school in Walthill. After high school, he joined the Army, serving honorably for three years in the 82nd Airborne division, where he earned the rank of sergeant at the age of 19. Conrad was awarded the Expert Infantry badge and Paratrooper wings. He was a soldier, farmer, rancher, mechanic, management, and adventured 14 different career changes. He made, lost, and spent millions of dollars in his lifetime. He was a cowboy, enjoyed rodeo, gold mining, horses and snowmobiling. He was a member of the VFW, and the AA for 40 years.
He is survived by his children Kimberley Maslonka, Brock Maslonka (Dianne), Cindy Maslonka (Dave Luckert), Jon Maslonka (Terry Valdez), Mark Maslonka (Brenda), Mike Maslonka (Jackie), Andy Maslonka (Shelly), Martin Maslonka (Janna), Mary Hart (John), Anne Maslonka; siblings Kathy Macklin, Frances Cerney, Rita Hackbarth; mother of his children Sharon Maslonka; partner Janine St. James; 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Piatt, siblings Stanley Maslonka, Dorothy Muhe and 2 grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park from 8am until 9am, followed immediately by funeral services at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park. Interment will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 2 pm at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park is in care of arrangements.
