Dan was born to John and Tina Bergstrom on April 22, 1980 in Morris, Illinois. The family moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1985 where Dan spent the remainder of his childhood. He graduated from Red Mountain High School in 1998 and joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduation. During his time in the Corps, he served overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq. Since his return, he spent the majority of his time working with the Berge Group in auto sales throughout the Valley. Dan was an extremely devoted Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan, watching or reading about them any chance he could get. He also thoroughly enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts.
Here is a toast Dan recited many times in his life:
Some of us were born into happiness and wealth.
Most of us were born into a life of hell.
Some of us were lost, and some of us were found, but most of us were beaten by life into the ground.
Maybe I’ll never see the day that I win,
But I’ll always have time for a beer with my friends.
We’ll fight anybody in the world ‘till the end
And if you fuck around with us, you’ll get your head kicked in.
Dan is survived by his parents, John and Tina Bergstrom; sister and family, Kristin, Jonathan and Leona Mead; grandparents, Jim and Skeeter Crupi; special friend Ann Carder and her children Nolen, Avre, and Landry; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Barbara Bergstrom.
