

David was born on January 8, 1943, in Fargo, North Dakota. David was raised in the small town of Horace ND. From a young age he worked on the family farm until he graduated high school from St. Joseph’s at St. Benedict’s Church in 1960.
A patriot and a veteran, David served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon returning to the states, he met the love of his life, Karen Dittmer, in 1968. The couple married in 1973 and built a beautiful life together.
David’s professional life was marked by hard work and dedication. He began his career at Fargo Glass and Paint from 1968. He went on to study speech pathology at Moorhead State College in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1969. In 1972, he began a successful 20-year tenure selling insurance for The Prudential. Always industrious, David worked various jobs until joining his brother-in-law as a Realtor at AZ-DAK Realty in 2001. He eventually retired in 2020.
David will be remembered for his generous spirit and his willingness to help anyone in need. He gave freely of his time and money, often driving friends and family to events or treating them to meals out. An avid reader and sports enthusiast, David was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings and NDSU Bison Football. Above all, he cherished traveling with his wife and family.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Karen Trottier; his son, Brian Trottier and his fiancé Candice McBride Parisella; his daughter and Son in-law Jill & Kevin Pires; and his beloved grandchildren: Rylee Pires, Kadyn Pires, Kensey Bourgoin-Trottier, and Colby Bourgoin-Trottier. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald Trottier and Richard Trottier, and his sisters, Carol Trottier and Marilyn Hagge.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Agnes Trottier in the mid-1990s and siblings Raymond Trottier, Delores Fritz, Leroy Trottier, Jerry Trottier and Dennis Trottier.
Services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on December 11th at 10:30 AM (1244 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206).
A reception will follow shortly after mass at Sunland Village in Activity Rooms 3 and 4 at 4601 E Dolphin Ave, Mesa, AZ 85206.
