

Age, 56, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Jan. 9, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. Deborah was born July 2, 1956 in Gulfport, MS to Richard and Patricia DeVore. She is survived by her husband Barry, of Mesa, AZ; her mother, of Wood River, NE; sister Cindy and Mark Switzer, of St. Louis, MO; brother’s Mike and Jody of Grand Island, Matt and Lisa, Curtis and Nancy, of Wood River. Step-children Melissa and Mark Wimmer of Lincoln, NE; Chad and Michelle Rogers of Chandler, AZ, step-grandchildren Amanda, Erika, Trevor, and 8 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and younger brother Mark. Deb graduated from Wood River Rural High School in 1974. While living in Lincoln, NE she worked for First Federal Lincoln and Lincoln Poultry, and also met her future husband. In 1989 she moved to Arizona and started working for Maricopa County Community College District where she was employed till the time of her death. Deb completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in educational learning from Northern Arizona University and was working on her PhD when she became ill. Deb spent 21 years working at Maricopa County Community College District and was most recent the Assistant Director of Development at Mesa Community College. Deb loved to golf, travel, watching the Huskers, and spending time with her step-grandchildren and most of all spending time with her husband. Memorials are suggested to a scholarship in Deb’s name at Mesa Community College. Arrangements are entrusted to Melcher Mission Chapel, Mesa, Arizona (480) 832-3500.
