Delbert Ray Murphy

Murphy, Delbert Ray, 89 Born in Oak Park, Ill on May 20, 1932. Delbert “Del was the single child of Earnest R Murphy and Mary M. (Lineberry). He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. His main profession was working in commercial Janitorial Sales in Arizona. He also worked for Smitty’s after his retirement. He had his own band as lead singer and guitarist, playing many side jobs. He is very humorous and was always cracking jokes. He loved to see people laugh. Married to Patricia A. (McNeer) for over 57 adventurous years. After their children were grown, they enjoyed many travels across many states in their RV. They were able to see many museums and landmarks. They visited family and friends along the way. They were members of “Weekenders Club” along with the “Gadabouts” where they formed many great long-lasting friendships.

Delbert is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Kathleen Manning (Phil), daughter in law Juliet Murphy, son Dennis Murphy (Judy), daughters Denise Clark, and Pamela Hinkle, brother in law Allen McNeer. The grandchildren he loved dearly are Kristopher Valinski, Kayla Garone (Steven), Liana Tuitu’u, Brittany Murphy (Trevor), and Lindsey Murphy along with 7 and ½ great grandchildren and several nieces.

He is preceded into death by parents Earnest and Mary Murphy, son Michael Murphy (Juliet), son little baby Murphy. Visitation and Rosary to be held Monday

October 25, 2021 at 3:00pm. On Tuesday October 26th 2021 starting at 1:00pm

Mass Service at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by graveside prayers at Green Acres Cemetery.
