Doug was born on August 17, 1954, in Toledo Ohio. His parents, Howard W. and Rose (Sabo) Gleckler moved to Whitehouse Ohio when he was very young along with his sisters and brother. He spent his childhood swimming in the quarry, hunting, fishing, trapping, biking to Oak Openings, dirt bike and go cart riding. After graduating from Anthony Wayne High School in 1972, he and two friends embarked on a cross-country trip taking them to California, Mexico and Hawaii, a lifetime adventure. Returning home, he attended Ohio State University. Doug moved to Tempe Arizona in 1978. He started a career at Tierra West General Contractors quickly moving up to lead superintendent. The owner and he later started LBG contracting. Doug went on to start his own company, Red River Contracting, very successfully running his company until his retirement.
Doug married Marilyn Freund in 1987 and raised a family of two daughters and one son (along with many pups that he adored, cats and other assorted pets). Doug was a devoted husband and father and together they enjoyed boating, vacations which included Dude Ranches and camping. He loved being in nature and hunted and fished with his son Derek, family and lifelong friends. He was a huge fan of John Wayne which spurred him into competitive gun shooting.
Doug is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughters Megan, Morgan, beloved grandsons, Logan and Weston, his sisters Susan Hughes, Sharon Bruns (Rick), Cindy Fisher and brother Mike Gleckler along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son Derek Wayne Gleckler, his parents and favorite brother-in-law, Skip Hughes.
Doug was a faithful servant of God, and we know he is now healthy, at peace and home.
