

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Alan Fitzhugh, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on May 25, 2026, after an aggressive battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, his five children, his two grandchildren, his three siblings, and an abundance of extended family and friends.
Born on May 3, 1962, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gary made his home in Arizona, where he worked as a truck driver, a stay-at-home father, a rancher, and a simulation technician who helped train firefighters and first responders. He was known for his work ethic, his love for God, his devotion to his wife and family, his exceptional dependability, his kindness, and his extensive knowledge, skills, and talents. Gary enjoyed driving his tractors, caring for animals, agriculture and farming, camping and fishing, cooking, video editing, helping others, and playing with his children and grandchildren.
His impact on others was deeply felt, and he will be greatly missed.
A Visitation Service will be held at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Home, located at 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206, US, on June 5, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 41246 N Barnes Pkwy, San Tan Valley, AZ 85142, US, on June 6, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
Following the Funeral Service a Committal Service will be held at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, located at 22425 E Cloud Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142, US, on June 6, 2026, from 11:00- 11:15 AM, and we do ask all who wish to attend to please arrive at 10:30.
