

George Peter Graczyk passed away January 28, 2013 in Honolulu, Hawaii. George was born on October 1, 1952 in Bethany Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Paul Peter Graczyk and Julia (Niziolek) Graczyk. George was raised in Chicago, Illinois and Addison, Illinois. George was raised with two brothers and one sister and was the youngest out of the 4 children.
He graduated in the first graduating class from Addison Trail High School in June of 1971. George attended college at Elgin College in 1979 and later at the University Department of the Air Force in 1990 where he earned degrees. On March 17, 1982 on St. Patrick’s Day at the Wheaton Illinois Court House he married Dianna. In June 2002, George and Dianna renewed their wedding vows at the Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. His careers included 12 years with Navistar International, 27 years with the US Postal Service and serving his country proudly for 21 years in the US Air Force. He was stationed Active Duty out of Williams Air Force Base in Arizona where he fell in love with Arizona. He retired out of March Air Force Base in California. George officially retired from the US Air Force October 1, 2012 and retired from the US Postal Service November 30, 2012. Some of George’s favorite hobbies included bowling on Tuesday’s, weekly golf with his buddies, working out and being an avid Chicago Bears fan. He also enjoyed traveling and his favorite vacation spots included Hawaii, Florida and Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife of almost 31 years Dianna; his daughters Lori, Angela and Amy; his best friends A ‘Diva, his German Shepherd dog and Thunder, his yellow Tiger cat.
A Celebration of His Life will be held Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 10:00am at the Foothills Golf Club 2201 E. Clubhouse Dr., Phoenix, Arizona 85048. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in George’s name to the Animal Care and Control C/O Donations, 2500 S. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85009.
