

George Edward Rein was born in Trenton, NJ on October 1, 1978. The son of George F. Rein and Diane V. Rein. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1996; and attended Mercer County Community College in NJ.
In October 1999, he pursued his lifelong desire to serve his country and continue the family’s legacy by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He attended Marine Corps recruit training in Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC; followed by Marine Combat Training in Camp Geiger, NC. Upon completion of his entry level training, he attended his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) at the Naval Air Station Pensacola in Jacksonville, Fl, where he earned the technical skills of an avionics electrician and miniature and micro miniature repair technician (MOS 6423). George Edward Rein honorably served his country for over 18 years in both the Marine Corps’ active and reserves components. He excelled while serving in all Marine Aircraft Wings, in locations such as Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan and Miramar, California. After 18 years of exemplary and faithful service, George Edward Rein was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
After his career in the Marine Corps, George returned to Pheonix, AZ where he began a career with Intel Corp working as a manufacturing and laboratory technician and completed his Associate’s Degree in Chemistry from Arizona State University. George enjoyed spending time with his family, going to concerts, traveling, meeting people and making new friends. He was an avid collector of Star Wars and Marvel Comics memorabilia.
Furthermore, George enjoyed serving his community and actively supported the East Mesa Marine Corps League. As a member of the Marine Corps League, George dedicated countless hours assisting Veterans and their families in need, while sharing the legacy of his beloved Corps with everyone that crossed his path.
George was preceded in death by his father, George Rein.
He is survived by his wife, Heather Rein of Mesa, his daughter, Lilyann Rein, his stepdaughter, Sydney Johnson; and his mother, Diane Rein. He is also survived by his cousins, Andy and Beth Dunigan, Aaron and Melissa McGrady and Christina McGrady.
George passed away on December 11, 2025, and will be remembered for his strength of character, unwavering integrity, diligent work ethic, contagious humor, and dedication to those he loved. His legacy will continue to live on and resonate with those he touched.
Services will be held on January 2, 2026, at 11:00 am at the National Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
