Gerald Eldon Ehnert passed away on September 21, 2011, in Mesa, Arizona. Born in New York Mills, Minnesota, to Herman and Ruth (nee Johnson) Ehnert, Gerald arrived on December 28, 1924. Gerald was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Margaret Ehnert, Ronald Ehnert, brother, wife Carol; Loren Ehnert,brother, wife Marlys; Helen Sonberg, sister, husband Paul; daughter Pam,husband Colin; Vickie Reme, husband, Kurt and many neices and nephews. . A memorial service honoring Gerald will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church East Mesa on October 26, 2011 at 11:00 am. An inurnment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in the spring.
