Geraldine "Geri" Russell

Ahwatukee – Geraldine C. Russell, 81, passed away September 5, 2016 at Emerald Grove North in Mesa, AZ. She was born January 19, 1935 in Evergreen Park, IL, the daughter of Idean and Mary Christina [Binka] Flanders. Geraldine “Geri’ was raised in Blue Island, IL where she attended Blue Island Community High School and graduated in 1953.

Geri married her high school sweetheart, William Bradley Russell on July 6, 1953. They raised three children in Calumet City and Lansing, IL before relocating Casa Grande, AZ in December 1970.

Geri started working for Wells Fargo Bank (formerly 1st Interstate) at the Casa Grande branch in 1974. She had quite an extensive career (20 years) starting as a Bank Teller and retiring as an AVP in Phoenix September 1, 1994.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William in 1992 and her loving sister, Ruth in 2001. Survivors include her daughter Kathi Underwood and her husband Rick of Casa Grande; her daughter Barbara Davis and her husband Glen of Gold Canyon; her son William Russell Jr. and his wife Beth of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, Preston Davis, Joshua Underwood, Amy Underwood Lynch, Kristin Davis Merriman, Michelle Underwood, Emma Russell and Amanda Russell; six great grandchildren, Reghan Davis, Peyton Merriman, Gavin Merriman, RyLee Davis, Taron Ferguson and Nash Ferguson; one sister, Jeanne Roberts of Frankfort, IL and one and one brother, John Flanders and his wife Carol of Springfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Banner Hospice at 275 E. Germann Rd.,Ste. 110, Gilbert, AZ 85297. A special THANK YOU to our wonderful team of Beanne, Reagan and Elizabeth for making our mom’s last days comfortable.
