Gregory was born at home in Jennings, Missouri, October 27, 1940, attended Catholic Grade school, K-8, graduated in 1954, attended Fairview High School, grades 9-12, graduated in 1958, and attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, received a BSIE degree in 1962. He was married to Carleen Marie who preceded Gregory in death on May 19, 2004.
He is survived by his children: Pamela, Steve, Kathryn, and Jennifer; Grandchildren: Jody, Misty, Jonathan, Kiley, McKenna, Adam, Jake, Luke, Kris and Meghan; Great-grandchildren: Chandler, Ella, Malin and Kaylee.
Gregory was inducted into United States Air Force after college graduation and was WUSTL ROTC Cadet Corps Commanding Officer. He was Honorably Discharged in 1963 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
Gregory held several Engineering and Managerial positions throughout his career. He was a licensed pilot and served on several organizational boards including:
• International Facilities Management Association, Greater Phoenix Chapter
• Chandler Cultural Foundation, Chairman, Board of Directors
• Gila Springs Master Homeowners Association, Director
• Institute of Industrial Engineers, Member
• Chandler Regional Hospital, Director, Board of Directors
His proudest family moments include the birth of his children: Steve, Kathryn, Jennifer, and the adoption of his wife’s daughter Pamela; the completion and graduation of all his children from college.
His proudest career accomplishments: Succeeding in the art of managing people and major projects; Retiring after 27 years with Intel Corporation.
His proudest civic accomplishments/involvements include: Graduating from the City of Chandler’s “Leadership” training program; Serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chandler Center for the Arts; Serving as a board member, for the Chandler Regional Hospital.
His Special achievements/awards/offices held/additional points of interest and memories: Obtaining his Private pilot license and flying all over North America. He was an avid automobile enthusiast and collected several unique vehicles over the years. His other interests included genealogy, astronomy, and travel. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed movies at the theatre with family.
An interment ceremony with Military Honors at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of the Valley, are requested.
Come join the family in a celebration of the Life and Times of Gregory Myers. The celebration will be held on the patio of Nando’s Mexican Cafe, located in Chandler Arizona, at 1890 West Germann Road, Chandler Arizona, 85286 Saturday, October 30th from 12pm to 4pm.
