Harry Daniel Boone was born on November 1, 1935 in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended the University of Arizona Tucson, where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married the love of his life, Diann Swearengen, on November 27, 1964. They remained devoted to one another for 57 wonderful years and raised three children, Brian, Daniel and Michele.
He served the Arizona Air National Guard with honor and distinction for 32 years, retiring in 1990 with the rank of Lt. Colonel, and flew his F-100 Super Sabre fighter jet to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson where it remains on display to this day. He spent the next 14 1/2 years working as a Starter for Dobson Golf Course before retiring for the second and final time.
Harry was an avid outdoorsman for more than 50 years, with special interest in hunting deer, elk, javelina and game birds, fishing and of course, flying. He was an extremely rugged masculine man with the swagger of a fighter pilot but he also possessed the soul of a gentleman. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Las Palomas Senior Living Community, 9050 E. Brown Rd., Mesa, Arizona.
