Helen Veronica Barton

Helen was born October 5, 1932, in Armour, South Dakota, to Leanard and Anna Murphy Beeson. She married William (Bill) Barton Jr. on June 4, 1964. They made their home in Vermillion, South Dakota, before retiring to Mesa, Arizona, in 1986.

Helen enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, boating, tap dancing, and singing. She will be remembered for the joy she found in these activities and for the love she shared with her family and friends.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Kathy Caekaert (Chino) of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Barbara Theobald of Oak Creek, Wisconsin; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, William (Bill) Barton Jr.; her son, Alan Barton; two brothers; six sisters, including Billie (Michael) Ketchum; her grandchild, Michael Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen was cremated and laid to rest beside her husband, Bill. A private service with her daughter was held on October 4, 2026.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to LaBella Vita Assisted Living, especially Roseann and Aldrich Telan, for the loving care they provided Helen for 12 years. The family is also deeply grateful to Hospice of the Valley and Abby, her hospice nurse, for the compassionate care and kindness they provided during Helen’s final days.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
