Born August 12, 1935, in Dijon France to Albert and Catherina Prucnal. She is survived by her husband Herman (Bill) Scholz of 69 years. Her two sons and their wives Marc and Kyra Scholz, Alan, and Lynn Scholz. Seven grandchildren; Marcus (predeceased), Arielle, Lisa, Elisha, Amber, Chans, and Autum. Eight grandchildren; Solana, Savannah, Gracie, Brynlee, Kaitlyn, Huntley, Brantlee, and Michael.
Helene grew up in Dijon during World War II and learned how to survive difficult life situations and knew how to make a dollar stretch. After the war she became a fashion model and hairdresser. She won a first-place trophy in Paris during a fashion show. She then met Bill in Dijon and it was love at first sight. It was seven days later that dad proposed to her. They were married on April 22, 1955. Helene and Bill while in the Air Force moved around Europe and the United States 26 different times. Helene loved moving and loved creating a new home wherever they were stationed. We always had the very best in home décor and comfort.
Helene’s many talents were creative fashion designing and sewing her own outfits. (She always dressed to the nines!), hair styling and hair dressing, painting, and drawing of which we have many of her art works at our homes. She was also the best with all her French cuisine dishes and sauces! We always looked forward to a great meal at her house. She loved animals but loved her cats the most. She loved America, studied its history to gain her US citizenship and was one of the most patriotic citizens of this country hands down.
Helene was very generous with all she had and was always willing to help others. She was the life of a party and the hostess with the most she could provide. She loved to play cards, games and go camping with family and friends. She always knew if something was not right with us children and would say “My little pinky told me”. She was very tough, strong willed and fierce with us but when she loved, she loved with her whole heart!
She will be forever in our hearts and will be missed dearly by all those who have come to know her and her French accent. She has blessed us all in many ways and many times. Be at peace with the Lord Jesus.
