He was born on May 7, 1935, in Marblehead, Massachusetts to Doris May Carey and Howard B. Snow Sr., both of Marblehead Massachusetts. He attended NE University, DeVry Technical Institute, and Coyne Electrical. He enjoyed a variety of vocations including computer programing, management, and training. He was a locksmith for his own private company, the State of Connecticut and the Arizona State Prison systems. He also served as a maintenance foreman and was an all-around man of many talents. There wasn’t anything that he set his mind to that he could not, or at least would try to accomplish.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and reserves at the time of Korean Conflict from 1952. He received an honorable discharge in 1960 as an Electrician Apprentice. He received the Navy Occupation Service Medal and the National Defense service Medal. One of his most enjoyable jobs and memories were made traveling the US “Workamping” for 12 years, along with his wife and their four-legged fur babies, Sasha their Chow-chow and Joy Noel their Sheltie. Working in such places as Cody, WY, Cordele, GA, Mesa, AZ, Piedmont, SD, Beaumont, TX, Tucson, AZ, Glen, NH, Sturbridge, MA, Hemet, CA, and Las Vegas, NV among other interesting places.
He never met a stranger that didn’t become his friend. He had a love of nature and animals of all kinds. He and his wife enjoyed Tasha, a red chow-chow, Shasha, a black chow-chow, Joy Noel a beautiful little Sheltie that looked like a miniature “Lassie”, and a black and white sheltie, named Angel which they rescued from the streets of Las Vegas. She became an “Angel” in their lives. Now he leaves behind a beautiful little Blue Merle name Cee-Cee who misses her “daddy” very much. In all his days “on the road” working at different campgrounds and such, he found the perfect job in Cordele, GA working at a local airport. The great love of his life, other than his wife, was airplanes. He truly enjoyed the time he spent there and returned to work there a second time.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, of 30 years, Diane G. Snow, his daughter Christine Snow Poulin of Torrington, CT, his three step-sons Russell Aceto and Allan Aceto both of CT, and Steven Aceto and his wife Alana of Benton, LA. One thing he always said was, “While we are here on earth, we will have many trials and temptations. This is an imperfect world that we live in, but there is coming a day when this world will be no more. All pain, sadness and sickness will be done away and God will wipe away all our tears. So don’t worry about today because God has it all under control. This world is not our final home. Heaven is our destination.” His attitude was always very positive and there wasn’t a day that passed when you didn’t see a beautiful smile on his face. His redeemer lives and now Howard is seeing Him face to face!
