Sister is Forever

I have so greatly enjoyed having the blessings of love from a sister like Inez thru these many years in both good times and times of sickness and sorrow.  Among those blessings was introducing me to my beloved husband Luther. Many memories to be remembered always.  Love Margaret

When my dear Inez asked me if I loved her, I would read her this poem, which says everything there is to say about how I felt for her:

For the Woman of My Dreams

The first time I saw you, I somehow knew you'd be important in my life.
In my eyes, you were beautiful in so many ways.

There was no doubt that I wanted to spend forever with you.And when we joined our lives, things were every bit as good as I'd hoped.
I didn't want anything to change.

But...life is full of changes, and not every day can be paradise.
Together we've faced reality, the day-to-day "bumps in the road" that test every couple's patience.
I've seen you in many challenging sitations, and the miracle is...you're even move beautiful than I thought possible!
You're sweet, thoughtful, strong, supportive, and a partner anyone would want on their side.

Not only are you the woman of my dreams, but you're also my best friend, and as time passes, I fall more deeply in love with you.

I have many fond memories of my Grandma "I" while playing at both the Burien and  Roslyn house with my “Going to Grandma's” bag in tow.  Grandma was always smiling and would turn something negative around.  If you complained that you were bored, she would ask you what you wanted to do.  When you said, “I don't know”, she would ask “then who should I ask?”  I often think and say some of her phrases like this one.  Mostly I will miss her warm smile and caring heart.

What a special fiend you have been Inez. Even just a few weeks ago  your smile and twinkle in your eyes reminded me of so many times we spent together enjoying our faith in our Lord.. You met Harland and was excuted how he loved the Lord.  Harland you have demonstrated your love to her like the scriptures instruct a husband is to love your wife. You have gone over the top and she really appreciated and loved you. We love you for it too. The pictures are precious thank you who worked to make these so precious for all of us to remember.She was a precious lady I'll never forget. My Mother - my best friend

I am sorry you had to leave us as we have had so many wonderful memories together over the years.  I know you are with your Lord in heaven waiting for us to join you some day.

The last few years we shared together many "memories of the moment" but you never lost your sense of humor or your beautiful smile.

You were the BEST MOM and I will miss you.

We went to Grace Church together and I worked with her in Good News Club when my children were young.  I remember her smile.

Inez had a puppy, a toy poodle named Bo.  It turned out that he was too rambunctious for her and she offered him to our family.  We went to Inez and Harland's house to meet Bo and we remember he didn't stop running for our entire visit.  One of us would hold him for a few seconds then he was off again, dashing around and around the room, up and over furniture and people!  We laughed and laughed.  Bo just had his 10th birthday and he still has wild moments, scampering from one end of the house to the other and making us laugh.  Thank you, Inez.

I am cherishing my memories of Grandma as I reflect back over the years.   My first memory of Grandma was when she lived with us before she and Harland were married…  So, I must have been about three years old.  I went in one morning to her room and asked her if I could get in bed with her.  She said, “Sure.”  So, I climbed on in and my cat that was all wrapped up in a blanket that I was carrying decided THAT was the time to make her GRAND EXIT.  Grandma hadn't known I had the cat all wrapped in there and I remember after the ruckus was finished, her laughing and saying, “I said you could get in bed.  Not the cat.” 
 
I also remember my trips to visit her & Harland at the Burien house when I was older and we sewed dresses for my dolls, made candy, got my ears pierced (with Mom's permission) and sewed an apron that I still wear for cooking.  

We all loved going to the Roslyn house.  I specifically remember the fireworks on the fourth of July and at least one Christmas there with lots of snow and us playing the game ‘Sorry' and 'Score Four'.

She certainly took much delight in the trips that we were able to take to bring Alanna down to see her in Arizona.  She enjoyed seeing Alex and Aldon as well on our last trip down.  I could tell that she sincerely enjoyed the time with her great grandchildren.

I will certainly miss Grandma here, but I am confident in her faith in Christ as her Savior.  I know that at this moment she is enjoying being in the presence of God and living in the perfection of Heaven.

I remember that Grandma I liked the cupcakes that we made her for her Birthday.

I remember that Grandma I liked the picture that I colored for her at Aunt Pat's house and the way she smiled when we sang her “Happy Birthday.”

Pat, Joe and Family,  we were sorry to hear about Inez.  In our years of knowing Pat, her love for her mother was evident.  We know Inez will be remembered with great affection.  Theresa and Paul Clark

I first met Inez in 1968 when I began dating her daughter, Pat.  I became Inez's son-in-law in 1971.  In all the years I knew her, we never had a cross word.  She was always very kind and supportive of me. She was truly the best mother-in-law any man could hope for.

From childhood, I recall mother's passion for sharing the gospel. She hosted Good News Clubs in her home. Her work was untiring in summer Bible School programs which continued well into her retirement years.

She consistently,along with Harland, prayed for me and my family and later their children as well.

Her unwavering comitment to assist my undergraduate work through personal financial sacrifice and consistent intercessory prayer allowed me to complete the task and move on to a rewarding career in teaching and later the financial industry.

Grandma I remember when we would be at the Burien house and I would be complaining of nothing to do and you would wrap a piece of wax paper around a comb and tell me to hum along and you would play the piano and sing “oh, them golden slippers”. You had such a beautiful voice and it would come right from your heart.

You always said that the golden streets where in heaven that we would walk when we past on.  Well you are there now and some day we will walk those streets together.  Some day I will walk those streets with you comb and wax paper in hand and we will sing and laugh at the time that has past.

Inez was my mother-in-law, but she was not a mother-in-law in the commonly thought or negative sense.  She was my husband's mother and my friend.

She loved our children, her grandchildren unconditionaly.  

One of my first thoughts after her death was that now she can walk freely and her mind is clear.

Inez loved sacred music, playing it on the piano, singing it and listening to it.  She never met a hymn or gospel song she didn't like.  The more harmony the better.

She also loved to be well-dressed.  So, I know that last Monday night when she joined Jesus in heaven she was thrilled with the robe He has given her to wear as she sings in His heavenly chorus.

What a blessing it was to see my Aunt I captured, in so many ways, in these photos of her life. My Aunt Inez had a special way to encourage those that were near to her and whom she loved.  We will all miss Aunt I.  But as her nephew, I know that I will see her again in glory because her faith and trust was in Christ, her Savior. We have been praying for the family.  Love, Tom
