Jack Preston Parks, age 77, of Gilbert, AZ passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 20, 2023, from complications of Agent Orange. He was born on June 29, 1946, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Joseph and Mavis Parks.
Jack served in the Air Force from June 15, 1964, to June 14, 1968, until he was honorably discharged. He then went on to work as a policeman in North Carolina and Sheboygan, WI. He also worked for Bemis Manufacturing in Sheboygan Falls and Daystar Inc in Phoenix, AZ until retirement.
Jack met the love of his life, Susan Nett, and went on to marry her on May 25, 1996.
Jack is survived by his spouse, Susan Parks of Gilbert, AZ; his daughter Angela (Robert) Schutte of San Tan Valley, AZ; his brothers Joseph (Maria) Parks Jr and Michael (Yvonne) Parks; his stepsons Brad (Yuni) Roehrig of Shalimar, FL and Nathan (Milagro) Roehrig of Gaithersburg, MD; his step-daughter Stacy Roehrig of Kiel, WI; his grandchildren Desirae Miley, Sierra (Devin) Mittnacht, 1st LT Matthew (Nikki) Roehrig, E-4 Dylan Schutte, Grace Roehrig, E5 Chandler (Jade) Schutte, Chase Lubbert, Vanessa Roehrig, Alicia Roehrig; his nephews Daniel Parks, Matthew (Chelsea) Parks; his niece Deborah Diane (Jason) Denton, and four great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Joseph (Mavis) Parks and his father-in-law Robert (Leona) Nett; his brother Bert Parks; his sister-in-law Barb Berchem; his brothers-in-law Bob Taylor and Alan Heus; and two great grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Jack will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Light in the Desert Church, 7930 E Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85209, where he served as a Deacon.
