James Thomas Barnett II
November 27, 1937 – January 10, 2020
Following a long period of failing health, James (Tom) Barnett passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020. Tom was born in Marianna, AR to Mina Lee and Pierce W, Barnett. He lived a Marianna until the age of 18 when he joined the U.S. Army. Following his years in the service, he enjoyed a lifetime of work and experienced even more enjoyment in retirement. He was devoted to his family and friends and dedicated his time to making people smile. He was, most of all, passionate and proud of his grandchildren. He was a major presence in their lives. He loved music, reading, history, classic car shows, meeting friends for coffee and exploring new places. Tom was a longtime Arizona resident. When he stepped off the plane in Phoenix in July 1967, he said it was heaven. He hated the cold. In Arizona, he met the love of his life, Vicki Hyduke. Forever remembered by: Wife and best friend of more than 50 years, Vicki Hyduke Barnett. Daughter, Bethanie (Randy) Miller of Kerrville, TX. Son, Ryan Barnett (Pamela) of Queen Creek, AZ. Brother, Pierce W. Barnett, Jr. (Ruth) of Jonesboro, AR. Brother-in-Law and good friend, Gary (Sally) Hyduke of Queen Creek, AZ. Six Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephew and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents, son Jimmy, and sister Billie Jean. He was a strong, proud and good man. He is loved and sadly missed by many!
