He was born to Mary Louise and Stanley Lester Beam on December 4, 1942 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He lived most of his life in Arizona. Jim worked for 30 years in the aircraft parts industry as Manager of Material for Air Research now known as Honeywell. He is survived by his wife Dorothy and their children Michael Beam and Shannon Coombe as well as his five grandchildren. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Glenn and Ted Beam.
Jim was a devoted husband and father who loved his family and friends very much. Jim enjoyed his time living in Overgard, Arizona. He had a passion for gardening and growing vegetables. He would share what he grew with his friends and family. He volunteered at the local Baptist Church and donated to multiple charities. Spending time with his grandchildren gave him so much joy. Jim really enjoyed taking friends and family quad riding when they would visit. He loved being with his wife, Dorothy, and they spent so much time together enjoying their dream home up north. Jim and Dorothy married on January 31, 1970 in Phoenix, Arizona, and for the next 53 years built a wonderful life together.
Jim was being cared for by his wife and was in hospice care. He was not supposed to survive after he was born as he had an enlarged heart, but God had different plans for him. He is truly loved and we will miss him tremendously.
