

He was born on September 29, 1926, the youngest of 3 sons to George and Mary E. (Jefferis) Grim in Coal City, Indiana. He was raised in Chatfield, Minnesota, and was captain of his high school football team, as well as class president, graduating in 1944. Jim served his country in the U S Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was united in marriage to Marie Wiltgen, his beloved Marie on February 3, 1951 in Rochester, Minnesota. He earned his business degree in engineering, and worked for Donaldsons Inc., as efficiency/ quality control and time studies Engineer. Upon his retirement, Jim and Marie moved to Mesa in 1987. An avid golfer and bowler he enjoyed sports and was a very devoted fan of the Diamondbacks Cardinals and Suns. He also enjoyed wood working and cross country road trips. Jim was a member of the Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus.
James is survived by his son Chris Grim, daughter Laurie Lowe and her husband Jeff; grandchildren Alex Lowe and his wife Jessica, Ryan Lowe; great-grandchildren Tyler, Liam, McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206 on October 3, 2015 at 11 am. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care is in care of arrangements.
