This is for Walter. We had a great time in the Philippines. Being stationed together was great I finally got to really know my younger brother a little better. James was a good mechanic, he came up to Sioux Falls and fixed the transmission on our car. He was a good brother. Wish we could have spent more time with him these past years.

Going to school with James was an experience all of its own. When he found out that Walt liked me he started in with his tormenting and teasing. I was going steady with someone else so it caused me problems to no end. James and I always had a special closeness. We helped him get out of a lot of trouble with Betty, she and his children were the light of his life.It was him that arranged for me to sit on the broken spring of their couch the first time I met his parents. I never let on that it hurt. He was disappointed. Loved him much☺

Papa Johnson,
You have giving me precious memories. Thank you for keeping the door unlock to your house for me to just walk on in to join the family in Guam. Thank you for the fond memory of your voice only singing Michelle ma belle outloud for me to hear. Nobody will ever sing it better than you. I love you. Give Momma Johnson a big kiss for me. Our condolences to the family. Prayers for strength and peace to all.

Dear Johnson's, I want you all to know your loss is also mine.
Dad "J" demonstrated his love in the advice, time and scolding (lol) he shared.
A few years ago dad visited me in the hospital at a time when he could no longer drive.

Those visits and laughter we shared took my mind and spirit away from all the mental and physical pain I was enduring.

Those visits brought tremendous comfort and joy, forwhich I am so grateful.

May God bless his soul and have his place prepared next to Mom at his table... Love Vincent Edwards

The wedding ceremony of which I was a part was the greatest honor of my career.

NEIGHBOR FRIEND

February 14, 2021

To the family of James L. Johnson Sr.
WE are saddened with the news of the passing of Jim.
Have only known each other for a few short months as a neighbor-friend at the Enclave in Chandler but always enjoyed an exchange of greeting as we saw each other in the common areas of the building.
Again--we are saddened with his passing and are sorry for your loss. A neighbor / friend couple at the Enclave.
