A proud Missouri ’69 graduate, Dr. Lindley devoted a lifetime to the care of animals and the people who loved them, earning a place as a beloved presence in his community through steady compassion, tireless work, and an example that inspired colleagues, students, and clients alike.
Over 40 years of practice in Tempe, Arizona, Dr. Lindley combined skill with diligence and vision. During that time, he owned University Veterinary Hospital and Countryside Animal Hospital. He also helped expand access to veterinary services across the region, co-founding Kennel Care in Chandler, Arizona, and University Pet Clinic in Tempe, and serving as a founding member of an emergency clinic in the Phoenix area—endeavors that reflected both an adventurous spirit and a deep commitment to meeting needs wherever they arose.
Dr. Lindley’s dedication extended beyond the clinic. He served as a lecturer at Arizona State University, teaching classes in the preveterinary medicine program and guiding students as the preveterinary adviser for professional development. In these roles, his compassion and high standards were matched by a steady encouragement that helped others find their footing and aim higher.
A respected leader in the profession, Dr. Lindley was a past area director and a past treasurer of the American Animal Hospital Association and served on the Arizona VMA board of directors. His service reflected the same hard-working devotion that marked his daily practice—quietly strengthening the institutions that support veterinary medicine and the communities it serves.
Dr. Lindley is survived by his wife, Sue; two sons; three grandchildren; and a sister.
