November 21,1949 – December 26, 2022
James “Jimmy” Mullin, 73, of Mesa, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on December 26th, 2022. Jimmy was born on November 21st, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from St. Thomas Moore High School. Soon after graduating he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp, where he served as a Machine Gunner. During his time in the Vietnam War, he was a recipient of several medals including the Purple Heart.
After his Honorable Discharge, Jimmy held jobs as a bartender and mailman. He retired from the United States Postal Service, after 35 years.
In 2007, Jimmy’s dreams became a reality when he moved to Mesa, Arizona. In his home on October 20, 2007, he married the love of his life, Teresa Ann Fasciocco, with his three children Steven, Samantha and Ashley all by their sides. In 2013, he became a Pop Pop later known as Smooth, to Delaine Gabriella.
His hard exterior was met with his soft and gentle interior. He was a simple man, who loved the simple things in life. He was a home body who enjoyed playing games, with Rise of the Nations being amongst his favorites. He loved being in his pool, where he would blast his country music or Rolling Stones. With the music blasting, his cowboy hat and sunglasses on, a Kool cigarette in one hand and a Rolling Rock in the other, he knew he was blessed. He was surrounded with love, from his girls, his animals and his friends. He was a stay at home politician during the day and a comedian at night, entertaining his platoon buddies and all that would listen on Facebook. His heart was filled with nothing but love, he always made himself available for those in need. He would give the last dime in his pocket if it meant to help another be happy, because he had everything he could ask for.
His fellow Marines of Charlie ¼ held a special place in his heart. He was a member of Wounded Warriors, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Mullin, his son Steven, daughters Samantha and Ashley and his grandchildren, Delanie and Steven. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Serena and his parents Martin and Marie Mullin.
