James L. Vollmer entered the presence of Jesus on June 12, 2025. A proud and decorated Vietnam Veteran, he honorably served in the United States Army and was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He retired from General Motors after many dedicated years of service and later found great joy working as Courtesy Patrol at Towerpoint Resort, where his warm spirit touched many lives.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his daughter, Cynthia Cantrell; and his son, Robert Vollmer, and daughter-in-law, Cindy. He was a proud grandfather, “Po” to Allison Wooley and her husband Nicholas, Brandon Vollmer, and Mitchell Vollmer, and a loving great-grandfather to Conner and Jackson Wooley. He is also survived by his sister, Julie Conner, and niece, Fawn Conner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Fawn Vollmer, and his sister, Charlotte Link.
James was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, kindness, and faith lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
