Mom was a quirky Air Force wife of 1, mom of 4, grandma of 15, and great-grandma of 20. She loved music, painting, crafting, arranging furniture, re-arranging furniture, and up-cycling just about anything she could get her hands on.
Her music career started young, where she learned how to play the accordion, and when we were kids, I remember loving the up-beat, fun tempos that filled the house while she played. Later she moved on to the organ and piano and one of her greatest treasures was a black baby grand that she used as a torture device for us kids, but she loved to play. One of her favorite pieces was Moonlight Sonata.
Mom love to have us dumpster dive for furniture, wood, tile, carpet scraps.......anything she could upcycle or repurpose and she was brilliant at it. She saw the world through uniquely amazing eyes and brought joy to many with her artwork and crafting talents. In her later painting career she adopted the tag name "Jan Gogh" , as Vincent was one of her favorite artists. Luckily, her legacy of artistic talent has been passed down to her progeny.
We will miss her funny sense of humor, her devotion to the Lord, and her appreciation for the simple things.
