Born on September 2, 1975, in Dixon, Illinois, to Michael and Denise Berry, Jason brought warmth, quiet strength, and joy to the lives of everyone who knew him. As a child he was inquisitive and enjoyed spending time with adults over children. He wrote imaginative stories in elementary school, which led to him being a reporter for his high school paper. During his teen years he earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He graduated from Red Mountain High School. Driven and hands-on, Jason went on to earn his Associate Degree from the High-Tech Institute, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and family.
Jason, devoted to faith and family as a son and father, is survived by his children, Matthew Berry, Amber Wilcox, Ryan Berry, and Kyle Berry, as well as his granddaughter, Baby Wilcox, and his parents.
Jason was a quiet man, but had lots of wisdom and humor, so when he spoke, those around him knew it was either something you'll remember forever or something that would make you laugh. His own goofy laugh made it impossible not to laugh along with him. He spent time devoting himself to his faith, often praying before and after work. Jason extended his generosity and kind spirit beyond his family to coworkers and strangers in a way that made everyone he met seem like a family member.
His life was filled with new travels and adventures that ultimately sparked his deep appreciation for fine wine. Some of his fondest moments were spent on special mother-son wine trips, and he took great pleasure in sharing his newest favorite finds with his children.
Jason passed his love for game nights down to his kids. His life was frequently filled with friendly competition, shared stories, and memories of spirited games of Uno that his family will treasure forever.
Jason leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be profoundly missed by his children, his family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his voice was quiet, his love spoke volumes, and his laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
Jason will be laid to rest privately at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park in Mesa, Arizona. Family will have a Celebration of Jason's life at a later date.
