Jean Janet Parnell

Jeanette Parnell, 75, of Phoenix, passed away on September 19, 2026.

She was born in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland, on September 14, 1951. Jeanette graduated from Lochgelly High School.

She married Gordon Parnell on June 15, 1974, in Lochgelly, Fife. Jeanette worked at Dunfermline Building Society for over ten years while living in Scotland. She and Gordon later moved to New York and then to Phoenix for work, where they built a life together.

Jeanette was a true gift to all who knew her. She had a deep love for her family, a heart for children, and a passion for serving others. During her 40 years in Phoenix, she was a devoted member of Mission del Sol Presbyterian Church, where she served in various leadership roles throughout the years. She especially loved helping children grow in their faith, supporting students at school, and creating mission projects that made a difference in the lives of others. Her commitment to serving her community also extended to her involvement with the Assistance League, where she was a dedicated member for several years.

Jeanette's generous spirit, caring heart, and love for her family and church community touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gordon Parnell; her two sons, David (Allison) and Stuart (Hannah) Parnell; and her six grandchildren, Joliene, Jayla, Amaya, Spencer, Colby, and Claire Parnell. She is also survived by her brother, Jim (Sandra) Spence, and her niece, Gillian Beech.
