Jeff was a gifted athlete as a youngster, playing soccer and baseball for many years. When the family moved to Scottsdale, Jeff discovered music and taught himself how to play guitar, particularly the bass guitar. He played in many local bands over the years before becoming an audio engineer. He was a highly sought after engineer and travelled the world working at entertainment venues and corporate events alike. He had the opportunity to meet many iconic members of the music industry but was never star struck by them, nor did he brag about meeting them. He would occasionally share juicy tidbits about them though. He performed on, and engineered many albums with local musicians during his career. Through the years “Wilbur” mentored many young people learning the audio engineering industry. Jeff had a unique way of talking and teaching, and an infectious laugh none of us will forget.
His second joy in life was fishing, which he did as often as he could.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Clara, girlfriend Chris Tanner and brother-in-law Patrick Hayter. He is survived by his son Justin Wetherby; father Bill Wetherby, sisters Janice Hayter, Karen Wetherby (Matt), and Andrea Baumer (Tom), along with several nieces and nephews.
