I'm really non existent to the Wetherbys, I carry Justin  by Jeff and took him and kicked me to the curb they had my baby to become a Wetherby I was no one I remember

I miss him he taught me how to cook how to be , how to pay a bill how to live how to make money how to survive how to  be

I was jeffs 1st wife, mother of justin wetherby, and , i was very proud to have justin , As Justin grew up he  was taught the art of audio engineering by Jeff. Justin learned all he could about audio and today hes very successful. Jeff really taught him well ,starting at Telluride when he was only 7 or eight yrs.old Justin learned speechless!!u. Jeff was my first husband I was 15 when I met him he's a very very intelligent guy and I was just head over heels for him and after 5 years of being his girlfriend I got pregnant with his baby Justin wetherby, Justin was born March 16,1979. Jeff had produced a very intelligent son, who went on to become a audio engineer. Jeff had taught Justin everything he knew about the business.  Clara,  took Justin  in at 13 ,  so much I always admired his mom and bill wetherby. I really miss them alot and will forever have nothing but good thoughts of them all!!  Sincerely. My name is Diane first wife of Jeff and mother of Justin. I have fond memories of Jeff and I was 14 when I met him I ended up marrying him he took good care of his family I know that I did respect his talents and intelligence Thanks for the memories!

This professional world we work in, is large, yet small, all at the same time.
We work together & see each other on jobs. 
But we are also a Family.
All intertwined among various groups of us, at various times, in various places.
As this continually occurs, we each leave small pieces of ourselves along the way. 
A memory here, a shared experience there. 
A travel in, a set-up, a laugh, a beer, a strike, and a travel out.
I don’t think we take each other for granted, but maybe we take for granted, that we’ll see each other again sometime, somewhere down the road. 
Wilbur, my good friend, I will surely miss you. 
Rest in Peace, & rest assured, you’ll forever be a part of who I am. I’m sure others feel the same.

I met Jeff through his son years ago and we hit it off immediately. We could talk tech for days on end. We could also argue politics forever without getting mad with each other. He is directly responsible for where I am in my career to this day. He took me under his wing and trained me in all aspects of audio that I was lacking. He was extremely patient and never got frustrated if I didn't grasp something immediately.  He was lightning quick with his wit and humor and also just as quick with his kindness and empathy. He was a great friend and someone I could always rely on. I will always remember the great times we had talking audio, talking about the "sport" of politics and fishing. Here is to you Wilbur! Raising my POP to you! 

I worked with Jeff at JRRussell Systems  in the early 80's. He was instrumental in my foray into the "local crew" concert scene here in Phoenix, AZ. He was the sound engineer for Killer Pussy and helped me land a few gigs as their lighting person. I've thought about Jeff many times and googl'd his name attempting to reconnect; we never did. He was a brilliant audio engineer and patient teacher to me while explaining sound theory. I regret not seeing him one last time and send my condolences to his family. RIP, Wilbur!

Forever Young Jeff, had a magical ability to fill a room with enthusiasm, youthful energy and inquisitiveness.  He was filled with pure innocence and now heaven has one more wonderful angel.

Jeff Wetherby was a great guy. We were friends and colleagues for over 30 years and he was one of the very best audio engineers I ever met. In my role at  Polygram Records International and then Universal, based in London, Wilbur was always my first call when I needed a sound man anywhere in the world. Over the years we worked together not only in the U.S and Canada, but also throughout Europe and Asia.
He was always at the top of his game, both with convention sound or running audio for many live acts.
We became firm friends – and he stayed with me and my family in the UK on two or three occasions.
His passing has come as a terrible shock to us. He was one-of-a-kind and we will miss him terribly. Of course we extend our deepest sympathies to Justin and the Wetherby family who must be inconsolable at the sudden passing of dear Jeff.

As the daughter of "Uncle Pete" I was often told about how he and my "Cousin Jeff" were "buddies".  So much so, that when my Dad (Uncle Pete) brought his then girlfriend, "Carole" (later to become my Mum) to meet "the Family" and to announce that they were going to move to Australia, Cousin Jeff kicked my Mum in the shins!  Over the months and years the childhood jealousy must have subsided enough for Cousin Jeff to put "pen to paper" - or crayon to paper (to be exact).  My Dad once showed me a lovely handwritten note from Cousin Jeff - received when my Mum and Dad had first immigrated to Australia.  A very young Jeff most probably meant to ask, "Hello Uncle Pete.  How are you?"  However, it actually read, "Hello Uncle Pete.  Who are you?"  The mistake made it all the more endearing.  I came to Arizona in the late 1980s to early 1990s to study Art and had many adventures.  One of the best was an unplanned trip to Mexico in the car of my Aunt Clara (Jeff's mother) with Cousin Jeff, Cousin-in-Law, Pat and his daughter Kelly!  And then there were free tickets with Kelly to U2's "Rattle and Hum" Tour in Sun Devil Stadium at Arizona State University - 10th row down "on the flat"!  Aunt Clara being beside herself with joy when Cousin Jeff arrived for Christmas Dinner with a shirt and tie on!  And a few years later being taken to have "Buffalo Wings" at Cousin Jeff's favourite "Off Campus" restaurant and being told about band practises out in the desert.  And then rescuing me once from Uni' when I got really sick.  Cousin Jeff - full of life and adventure.  The future less interesting with him having Passed.  Sincere Condolences to All.

Such a lovely obituary for such a lovely man.  So many nice memories with Wilbur on show site - I could go on and on.  He was one of a kind and I appreciated his calmness - especially in times of pure chaos. One smile or chuckle from him and I knew everything was a.o.k.  I wish peace of mind, body and soul in due time to Wilbur’s family and fellow fans.

I have tons of memories of sitting around with him on show site talking about his bluegrass festival work. I always wanted to go. Still have not. Life is short, I will get tickets! Rest in peace, Wilbur.

First of all, I’m very sorry to the family and friends for their loss of Jeff a.k.a. Wilbur. He was always so very kind and sweet to me. We have gone on many good fishing trips together. I will never forget our trip to Lake Powell. It was a blast and we had so many laughs. He will be greatly missed by many many people. May God bless you and you rest in peace Jeff!!
