Veda May Davis, 78 years old, of Mesa Arizona, died December 17, 2016, at home with her family in attendance. She was born on May 25th, 1938, in Yuma Arizona to Odell and Lucille Gayle. Veda married her childhood sweetheart, Jesse Charles Davis, on June 17, 1956 in Yuma Arizona. She was a military wife who was devoted to her country, husband and family. Veda is survived by her sister Marciene Thornburg; Brother and Sister in-laws Joanne Rawls, Edward Dale Davis (Pam Davis), Grover Davis, LeRoy Davis (Lee Davis, Raymond Davis (Jaque Davis), Linda Gollwitzer (Gary Gollwitzer) and many nieces and nephews. She is mother to Linda Ackerman (Gary Ackerman), Jesse Carl Davis and Sheryl Ofsthun (Gordon Ofsthun); grandmother to Katie Prescott (Eric Prescott), Samantha Fennell (Jaqi Male) and Drake Ofsthun (Kendra Collins) and great grandmother to; Ryleigh Ackerman, Brooke Ackerman, Arya Prescott and Charles Ackerman. Funeral Services are planned for January 14, 2017 at 1 pm at Johnson Mortuary Chapel.
