John Christopher McLoughlin

John Christopher McLoughlin, lovingly known as "Dad," passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 71.

John was born on February 18, 1955, in Morristown, New Jersey, and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He worked as a computer engineer specializing in communications and was a hardworking, dependable family man who always kept his promises.

Even during his adolescence, John showed the mind of an inventor. He was talented at fixing almost anything and could build computers from the ground up. He also had a deeply artistic side. He created statues, had a natural eye for sketching and drawing, and enjoyed editing digital photos and videos.

Dad was the person you could always call for help. He loved treasure hunts and had a lifelong passion for magic. He was a magician, a problem-solver, and a man with a wonderfully curious mind. He was also deeply interested in aliens and the supernatural.

John was kind, supportive, and sometimes wonderfully stubborn. He taught his children the importance of forgiveness and showing love through service to others. He loved attending and supporting his grandchildren's activities, playing chess with them, and watching them grow.

His family will always remember the stories that made him unique, including how he shined shoes in the New York City subway when he was only four years old. He was also famous in the family for his macaroni and cheese and was considered an expert at making perfectly smooth, lump-free mashed potatoes.

John was a man of faith and spent time studying religion. He sought to be a good person and tried to follow the teachings of Jesus through kindness, forgiveness, service, and love.

He is survived by his six children, Jennifer, Christina, Diana, Jonathan, Michael, and Ephraim, as well as his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Rita McLoughlin.

John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his kindness, humor, creativity, curiosity, dependability, and the countless ways he helped and supported the people he loved.
