Jose Mauro Sanchez

In his final wishes all he asked of his family was to stay united and work through life’s challenges together. He LOVED his family. I will always remember him playing “las Mananitas” on his harmonica to his wife, 11 children, 34 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Now that’s a lot of music!

He loved to tell stories about the “entierros” he once found in Mexico and said often that he was going to go back and dig them out. But he always stressed that piles of money were not what made one rich and for him, his greatest treasure was his family. He said, from the youngest to the oldest he loves them all the same.

He was a simple man. He lit up when he saw his grandchildren and great grandchildren peak their head in to his room, “Hi Tata!”. In his younger times he would dance with them. I don’t think there was a time he didn’t shake his bottom.

Tata had nicknames for his children and grandchildren, you know who you are!

He loved to crack jokes and had sayings for any occasion, he was funny. He was also kind. In my life I never heard him speak ill of anyone and was a calm soul.

As a father, he was a disciplinarian; he wanted his family to learn about life, the difference between right and wrong and the importance of making good decisions. He taught us to stand by our conviction but to also stand beside each other.

He was survived by his wife Nolberta Sanchez of over 60 years who wouldn’t leave his side for even a second. She was his “Paloma” and in his final days even without words his eyes were in constant search for her. His children Florencio Sanchez, Vicente Sanchez, Delfina Wallace, Alfredo Sanchez, Ausencio Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Juan Sanchez, Maria Garcia, M. Angeles Sanchez, Mauro Sanchez, and Miguel Sanchez. He is also survived by his 34 grandchildren who he loved very, very much and his 26 great grandchildren that made his eyes sparkle.

He will forever be missed but never forgotten. He will live in our hearts forever.

Mauro Sánchez nació el 04 de Diciembre del 1928; falleció a la edad de 86 años, el 23 de Enero 2015 con una abundancia de amor que le rodeaba.

En sus últimos deseos todo lo que pedía a su familia era permanecer unidos y trabajar con los desafíos de la vida juntos. Amaba a su familia. Vamos a recordarle siempre tocando "Las Mañanitas" en su flauta a su esposa, 11 hijos, 34 nietos y 26 bisnietos. Eso sí que es un montón de música!

Le encantaba contar historias sobre los "entierros" que alguna vez se avía encontrado en México. Papa dijo muchas veces que quería regresar solo para sacar esos entierros. Papa siempre insistió en que montones de dinero no era lo que lo hacía rico a él, su mayor tesoro era su familia. Dijo que, él amaba a todos por igual desde el más pequeño hasta el más viejo.

Él era un hombre sencillo. Papa se alegraba cuando veía a sus nietos y bisnietos junto a su cama "Hola Tata!" le decían. En sus tiempos cuando estaba joven él bailaba con ellos. A papa le gustaba bailar y siempre y cuando podía se ponía a mover la cadera, para hacernos reír.

Papa tenía apodos para sus hijos y nietos, ¿saben quiénes son!

Le encantaba hacer bromas y tenía refranes para cualquier ocasión, era divertido. Él también era amable. En mi vida nunca le oí hablar mal de nadie y era un alma tranquila.

Como padre, él era un disciplinario; quería que su familia aprendiera sobre la vida, la diferencia entre el bien y el mal y la importancia de tomar buenas decisiones. Él nos enseñó a pelear por nuestra convicción, pero también que siempre nos apoyáramos el uno al otro.

Le sobrevive su esposa Nolberta Sánchez, tenían más de 60 años de casados, ella no lo dejaba solo ni por un segundo. Ella era su "Paloma", así le decía papa y en sus últimos días, incluso sin palabras sus ojos estaban en constante búsqueda de ella. Sus hijos: Florencio Sánchez, Vicente Sánchez, Delfina Wallace, Alfredo Sánchez, Ausencio Sánchez, José Sánchez, Juan Sánchez, María García, M. Ángeles Sánchez, Mauro Sánchez y Miguel Sánchez. También le sobreviven sus 34 nietos que él amaba muchísimo y sus 26 bisnietos que hacían que sus ojos brillaran como las estrellas.

Te extrañaremos pero nunca te olvidaremos. Vivirás en nuestros corazones Descansa en paz papa.
