Joe graduated from Peoria Central High School in Peoria, Illinois in 1975. He married Janet (Park) Bushell in 1983 (div. 2010) and they made Arizona their home since 1985. In 2014, he married Toni Green-Bushell, sharing a loving relationship, living life to the fullest.
A devoted family man and a hardworking leader, Joe spent 35 years with The Boeing Company in Mesa, where he was a Manager in Production for the Apache helicopter. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for his wife, daughters, and grandchildren and enjoying life’s simple pleasures—spending time on the golf course, firing up his Blackstone grill, and winning at his favorite Keno games. Whether perfecting his swing, grilling the perfect steak, or waiting for his lucky numbers to hit, Joe brought warmth, humor, and a competitive spirit to everything he did.
He is survived by his wife, Toni Green-Bushell; his mother, Violet M. Bushell; his children, Camila Weckerly (Ty) and Rachel Margaritis (Peter); and his stepchildren, Terra Timmons and Tifany Alday. He was a proud grandfather of 12: Truitt, Ren, Cora, Jesse, and Emmett (Cami), Luke and Sofia (Rachel), Noah and Wyatt (Terra), and Brielle, Madison, and Gaven (Tifany).
Joe is also survived by his eight siblings: Val King, Michael Bushell, Jack Bushell, Patrick Bushell, Kitty Parr, Judy Revallo, Thomas Bushell, and Mary Slight. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Bushell.
Joe’s legacy is one of hard work, lots of jokes and laughter, and love. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on forever.
