Joyce Aleene Gaston

Joyce graduated Drumright High School in 1954. She and her family then moved to Arizona in 1955. Where she began attending Mesa Academy Beauty School, becoming a cosmologist in 1957. In November of 1956, she met the love of her life, Grover “Max” Gaston, while on a blind date set up by their friends. Shortly after they met, they were married on January 9, 1957 in Mesa, Arizona. Together they have two children, Sherri and Steven. Joyce spent her career working for Motorola and then W.L. Gore, retiring as a quality inspector in 1998.

Joyce loved to go to Colorado and Oklahoma to spend quality time with her sisters. She would frequently go fishing. She loved to dance and spend her time with friends. Joyce was very social and was always finding a social activity to keep her busy. Joyce and Max would spend their summers in Heber, Arizona at their cabin and then would spend their winters in Mesa, Arizona.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband; Grover “Max” Gaston, Son; Steven (Sharon), Grandchildren; Josh, Tristan and Tiffany, Great-Grandchildren; Cayden, Kinsey and Benjamin, Siblings; Bobby, Ronnie and Sandy. She is preceded in death by her parents; Aubrey and Gladys Seay, Daughter; Sherri Gaston, Grandson; Michael, Siblings; Laurence and Audrey.

A Memorial Service will be held in Joyce’s honor on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 2:00pm, at Mariposa Gardens; 400 S. Power rd. Mesa, Arizona 85206. Following the service Joyce will be laid to rest at Mariposa Gardens Memorial park.
