Born February 21, 1942 in Los Angeles, California, to her parents Mary Louise and Manuel G. Carrasquillo. Passed October 18, 2026 at 84 years young in her home of Mesa, Arizona.
Nita McCormick lived a life of love, kindness, and always caring for those around her. Her family consists of her husband, Bob McCormick, whom she can now join again, her sister, Irene Hernandez, 3 children, 6 nieces and nephews, 2 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as a large, loving extended family. She resided in Mesa, Arizona, and worked as a diligent Escrow Officer, proud of her work. To everyone who met her, it was clear that she was a kind, fun, loving, caring, and selfless person.
We Invite you to celebrate her life at Mariposa Gardens and Memorial Park on November 7th, 2026. The memorial service will begin at 11 am. The reception will be held at 1916 N. Williams, Mesa, Arizona 85203, following the service. The reception will be a potluck, so we ask that you bring a dish, drink, or side.
Nita wished for her life to be truly celebrated… she wanted a party! As such, guests are not required to wear black. If you are comfortable and would like, you are invited to wear colorful clothes. Nita expressed a great like for bright, “happy” colors… especially yellow! Please keep this in mind if you wish to send flowers (address to send: 400 S. Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206). Or, in lieu of flowers, the family is also accepting donations to assist with memorial costs (to be sent to Nita’s daughter, Lisa Irizarry). Nita was also well known for her impeccable collection of jewelry, so feel free to wear your favorite ‘bling’ in her honor.
We hope to see you there, that we may all celebrate Nita’s life together.
May Nita’s spirit continue to live in those whom she loved, and may her love continue to be felt.
