Jules Alcinord was born on March 6, 1953 in Port Margot just outside Cap-Haitien, Haiti. He was also affectionately known by his nicknames “Jeremy,” “Juice”, and “Uncle Jimmy.” Jules was the seventh child born to Paulina Tiberius and Pierre Misael Alcinord, Sr. He grew up with his beloved sisters and brothers: Anne “Celie” (deceased); Jane “Solange” (deceased); Pierre Misael, Jr. “Zembla;” Marie Yvette; Rose “Gigi”; Philomene “Rose;” and Michel “Ronald” (deceased). As a young adult, Jules moved from Cap-Haitien to Port-au-Prince. Then in 1985, he moved from Haiti to the United States after the fall of the Duvalier regime. In Brooklyn, New York he was reunited and lived with many of his siblings, his beloved aunt Anne Derameaux, her husband Tercius, and his many cousins from the Thelusma family: Jean-Michel “Cholo;” Jean-Robert “Djoby;” Frantz; Jacquelin; Willem; Leslie; Marie-Suzie; Guerline; Claudette “Nounouche;” Gerard (deceased); and Bertin Estimond. With his new life in New York City, Jules employed and developed many of his professional talents and skills as a tailor and a barber. He loved discussing politics, watching sports, dancing and music, playing checkers and cards, and making others laugh. Jules was as intelligent as he was warm and funny. Overall, he enjoyed and took great comfort in being in the company of family and friends. In 2018, Jules moved to Mesa, Arizona where he lived with and was cared for by his nieces Nancy, Mirlen, and Roudeline Canor, Nancy’s husband Dejean Dorcely, and their twins Keyley and Kayla Dorcely. Within the last two years of his life, he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior. Jules is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Pierre Misael, Jr., Micheline, Edith Jacques, his sisters Marie Yvette, Rose, Philomene, and his sister-in law Jacquotte. He also leaves behind his many cousins, his many nieces and nephews, and their children. As we lay our Brother Jules to rest, the entire Alcinord family appreciates their prayers, love, and support from our extended family and close friends near and far during this difficult time.
