Karen Florence Philo Grubbs

Karen — or “Philo” as she was known — lived most of her adult life in Mesa, where she met and married her husband, Leslie Grubbs. She was an early partner to the successful team of Sue and Laurent Teichman at Le Studio Salon. She brought beauty and joy to everyone she worked with there.

When Philo retired, she embraced her real passion for All Things Spiritual. She studied many modalities, including herbal healing and divination. She was also everyone’s favorite dog sitter. Despite her numerous interests, Philo always had time for anyone who needed help. If she saw someone who needed care, she just knew there had to be an herb for that. She was a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Friend, Healer, Mentor, and Angel. She called herself a Peaceworker. She was loved by all.

Philo was preceded in death by her parents Nelson & Dorothy Philo. She is survived by her husband Leslie Grubbs, and sisters Kathy Knudson (Morgan Hill, California), Corliss Philo (Dallas, Texas), and Claire Philo (Glendale, Arizona).

A visitation for Karen will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Melcher Roses, 43 South Stapley Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85204. A graveside will occur Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 North Center Street, Mesa, Arizona 85201.
