Kathleen Ernestine Wilt

Kathleen E. Wilt, 97, passed away October 28, 2017 in Gilbert, AZ. She was born August 11, 1920 in Terre Haute, IN to Harry and Nellie [French] Miller . Kathleen met the love of her life, Forrest Eugene Wilt, at a dance in Terre Haute and the two were later married on April 14, 1940; together they raised their three children, Sherra, Anita and Robert. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great and great -great grandmother. Kathleen was an avid reader of novels, reading up to ten books a week . She loved music and playing guitar, especially traditional country and western songs. In her younger years, Kathleen enjoyed colorizing old black and white photos with special paints to give them a more appealing look. She also enjoyed round dancing and square dancing with Forrest up until the mid-1980s. She was preceded in death by her beloved Forrest , November 2, 2009, her sister Berneadean Caylor, brother Anthony Galen and great grandson Cole. Kathleen is survived by daughters Sherra K. (Randall) Sutter and Anita S. (Carl “Bill") Cummings; son Robert “Bob” (Sharon) Wilt; sisters Freda Martin, Yvonne Lann and Joanne Sharp; grandchildren Michael (Kathryn), Robert (Jada), Timothy (Tonya), Kellie (Byron), Christina, Michelle, Dana (Sarah), John and Robert; great grandchildren Jordan (Janet), Rachel, Jonathan, Taylor (Marc), Shelby, Hailey, Isabella, Jacob D., Nathan, Natalie, Jacob S., Kylie and Ruby, as well as great-great grandchildren Emmiline and Teddy. A visitation will be held at 3:00pm, with a funeral at 4:00pm, Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd in Mesa.
