Kristen Leigh Collins

January 3, 1974March 19, 2013

Kristen Leigh Collins passed away March 19, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Oceanside, New York, Kristen arrived on January 3, 1974. Growing up in a loving home with her mother Barbara and step-father James, and her father Charles and step-mother Julie, Kristen learned that family was of the utmost importance. That lesson followed her throughout her life. She met the love of her life, Tim, online. She was in New York, he was in Texas, and it gave her mom heart failure but it was a love that was truly meant to be. Kristen had Tim wrapped around her finger from hello, it was all it took. The couple was married on May 21, 2006 in West Bury, New York and spent every day showing each other what true love really meant. Together they made the perfect team. Taking care of each other was a commitment that both Kristen and Tim held fast to. Proud to be a mommy, Kristen adored her 3 children, Hayley, Alexandra, and Hunter. Her family truly was everything to her. Special breakfasts, treats, and spending time with her kids wrapped in her arms brought so much joy to Kristen. Being artistic and creative came naturally to Kristen, at Christmas and Easter she would bake treats and make beautiful baskets for everyone. A completely beautiful person inside and out, her eyes would sparkle when Tim or the kids would walk into the room. She had the biggest heart that held so much love for everyone. If there was someone in need, Kristen would do anything for them. Her strong will helped her throughout her life, always knowing what she wanted and working to get there. A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Kristen will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her. Kristen is survived by her adoring husband, Tim, children Hayley, Alexandra, and Hunter, parents Barbara and James Bergin, and Charles and Julie Galeano, brothers, Steven (Tara) Galeano, Brett Bergin, and C.J. Galeano, and many extended family and friends. A visitation will be held from 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m. and interment will take place Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care 6747 East Broadway Road Mesa, Arizona 85206 (480)830-4422. Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about Kristen, Tim and their three children. I feel blessed to have been a part of her care at the cancer center. Her death was a trajedy and I feel so sorry for the family's loss. Kristen is in a better place, where disease and pain don't exist. I pray for those who were left behind, that they have the strength that they need to get through each day without her.

Nothing I can say or do can make the pain that you all are feeling any less. But please know I'm right down the street and at anytime I mean anytime you need me I will be there to comfort, help, provide in anyway I can.

I remember the first day I met Kristen at our neighbor's house. We shared many dinners together, experiences, stories, talks, texts, and Holidays in just the few years that we knew one another. I still see her with her hair up in a clip, with her shorts and flip flops. Whether it was 50 or 100 she loved your shorts. I hear her accent and see her beautiful smile.
She was a fighter... so courageous. An inspiration.
