Kristopher Todd Clemmens

Kristopher Todd Clemmens, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2026 at Honor Health Deer Valley in Phoenix. A celebration of Kris’ life will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at10:00 am at Mariposa Gardens Mortuary in Mesa, Arizona.

Kristopher was born on December 28, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Gerald Lester Clemmens and Mary Marcia (Newhouse) Clemmens. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1986 and continued his education at Iowa State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety. He married Wendy Lund in Waterloo, Iowa in 1990, later divorcing but continuing to raise their children together. He had a variety of employment advances and opportunities throughout his career including operating Clemmens Ace Hardware in Albuquerque, New Mexico for several years. He was most recently employed by Copper State Bolt And Nut in Phoenix as Manufacturing Quality Manager.

He is survived by his twin sons, Nathan and Nicholas, both of Gilbert, Arizona, as well as his sister, Karie (Tim) Saupe of Parker, Colorado: his brother, Keel (Danielle) of Stone City, Iowa: two nephews, Matthew (Patricia) Clemmens of Alpharetta, Georgia, Benjamin Clemmens of Macomb, Illinois: sister-in-law, Heidi Schill Clemmens of Macomb, Illinois: two nieces, Danielle and Cassidy Lund, both of Phoenix, Arizona: brother-In-Law, Mark Lund of Los Angeles, California: sister-in-law, Lori Lund, of Phoenix, Arizona: with recognition of Guy and Jancie Lund and Deano Gerth.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kris had a love for anything mechanical and lived his best life surrounded by friends and all his projects. With help of his dad, they pulled a1940 Chevrolet pickup truck from an Iowa pasture in 1983, restored it to running condition, where it has been a source of pride (and angst) since. It will continue as a legacy (along with countless other “projects”) for his boys to enjoy for years to come.

The family encourages memorials in Kristopher’s name to be made to a charity or organization of their choosing.
