Lawrence (Larry) G. Feezel, 84, of Queen Creek, AZ was called home on July 29, 2024. Larry was born on July 8, 1940, in Columbiana, Ohio. Always a tenacious and determined man with a will of steel and a heart of gold. He proved this time and again to all he encountered throughout his life, beginning in his younger years right up until the very end. Larry was an ambitious man right from the start. Seeking his mother’s permission to join the Navy at age 17 he retired some 20 years later in 1977. Larry was very proud of his Country and honored to be a United States Veteran, as well as an esteemed “Golden Shellback”. We can’t ever remember a time when the National Anthem played, whether live or on TV, that he didn’t get emotional as he paused to pay his respect and appreciation. Following his career in the military, Larry went on to work 20 more years at Allied Signal, until retiring once again. He was a skilled jack of all trades. Not only did he build his home and 1800 square foot shop, but renovated his cabin and upgraded his acreage in Northern Arizona as well, for that one day he would finally achieve his dream to “take it easy”, enjoy life, and fish! Apparently forty years of the daily grind was not enough for Larry! He went on to co-partner J & L Handyman Service, as well as raise, buy, sell and haul livestock. Larry enjoyed welding and staying busy but still always managed to make time to help others with any job or project that they sought his advice or assistance with; usually charging nothing for his labor or use of his tools or equipment.
Lawrence (Larry) G. Feezel is preceded in death by his wife Annabelle (2012) of 41 years. He is survived by Family, his extended Skippy’s family, his “Two Angels”, and countless friends.
A memorial service for both family and friends will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 4pm at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 E. Broadway, Mesa, AZ 85206. Celebration of Larry’s life will continue immediately following at Skippy’s, 23858 South Power Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
Larry will be remembered most for his generosity, kind heart, gentle spirit, quick wit, and always available “ear to listen”. We wouldn’t be doing him justice if we failed to mention his bold and blatant “one liner” t-shirts or his famous Cowboy hat. He will be forever loved by many and will be missed by all!
