Lawrence E. "Larry" Marshall

MARSHALL, Lawrence E. “Larry”, born May 3, 1926 to William B. and Helen E. [Collins] Marshall in Merrifield, VA, passed away August 1, 2014 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 88. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Larry was an avid sports fan who enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and watching baseball and basketball. With baseball being his favorite sport, Larry took on the job as a City League Softball Umpire. He was a fantastic organizer and also enjoyed collecting model trains. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Blanche [Payne] Marshall; his children Gary V. Marshall, David K. Marshall Sr. and Bonnie L. Echtermeyer and her husband Scott; his brother Garland Marshall and his wife Marvis and sister Helen Haight; two grandchildren, David K. Marshall Jr. and his wife Renee and Denyce A. Flores as well as his great-grandchildren Kian Marshall, Yadiel Torres, Brooklyn Marshall, Josiah Torres, Alexis LaBranche and Jonah LaBranche. A celebration of his life will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 15, 2014 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd. in Mesa.
